I am suffuring the Psoriasis since 35 years and Arthritis since 10 years. I have been on MTX since last 4 years and the current dosage is 25mg per week. Straight to querry. I am in extreme pain from top to bottom. very bone in neck, chest, air, fingers, hip, leg and toe is aching. Some joints have swelling to ... got x-ray done, all is ok. I hav been to best of the docs and they all suggest Remicade which i cannot afford. I am on Voveran painkiller multiple times a day for 2 months and this is going no where. The body is so stiff that i cannot even excercise. I thought it could be Fibromaylgia so tried Ultracet (Tramadol) but no pain relief and started vomiting to left it. I also tried accupunture but no relief. I am doing lot of diet management but no help. Can any one help me regarding what should I do to get this pain reduced. recently I started Nutrilite Omega3 oil 360mg per day. Thanx in advance

It is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory med. I have taken this before. It does not help pain. It only decreases swelling. Have you ever tried prednisone? MTX is at a high dose but by itself usually will not do the trick. I really think prednisone would help you. Will your rheumatologist prescribe you Vicodin for pain? I hope you feel better. I have had RA for 15 years now and it just rules my life. I just came off of Humira due to adverse reaction. I take prednisone 5 mg two times daily, MTX 15 mg weekly, Celebrex 200 mg two times daily and without the Humira I am really starting to feel miserable. MTX is almost always used in combination with another drug. This is when it works best. Good luck to you. :)
