What are your tips to help relieve pain so that you do not build up an immunity to prescription painkillers? I tend to try herbals and plain grin and bare it but are their other ways? Love to hear your tips and experience:o

Jacuzzis have been working wonders for me lately. I am not sure why but it seems to relieve minor pain. Could be because it is so relaxing. For those really bad flares though, I wish I knew myself.

When my pain is just pretty bad, I use heat and cold in cycles. But if I can catch it before it gets too bad, I do try to relax with some heat (like the jacuzzi) and massage the spot a little. I have found that pain in certain spots comes as much from tension as the actual arthritis.

Hi, very recently I read an article which states that fibre rich diets like dry fruits and beans are very rich in fibre and this in turn control inflammatory diseases like RA. Why don't you consult your doctor about this?

Pain killers work tremendously well in the beginning of their use. But their impact gets reduced after repeated use. I tried their use myself. Say for example the pain killers which we use for the treatment of headaches. After a certain period of time we begin to consume two tablets instead of one!

I agree with you prasanth5, pain killers form the start can really ease it somehow but their is a certain time that it takes time to ease it because your body is immune to the medicine that you intake already.
