I know this happens to millions of RA sufferers, including myself, but I have never understood quite why. Why do I tend to always get a flare up right before it rains? It was pretty painful a few weeks back and now it is starting up again, and sure enough the forecast calls for rain all week.

Oh yes, I definitely know if the weather forecaster is correct or not. I have even been able to make plans because of it. But sometimes the forecaster knew before I did, and I was able to prepare for the pain.

hi, my sister who is a sufferer from this Rheumatoid Arthritis does never told me about this because I know for the past years she is taking a very normal treatment whenever she is feeling the pain. I could get some details on this front and if it's real and then I have to assist her in this front.

For me, autumn and winter are the worst months for my RA because of the weather. If it's not the rain and snow, it's the cold. When the cold gets down in my bones the RA is so bad I feel I can't move, but usually a really warm bath helps. Although, my husband isn't crazy about days when I have to take up to 3 of these baths just to warm up, he understands. We've had a lot of rain lately and I know I've felt every day of it. But such is life with RA

My sister too get severe pain whenever she gets affected by cold and I am told that she is taking a prescribed medicine for RA along with medicines for cold. But, she continues her light regular exercises and diet.

It is because of the barometric pressure. Fluctuations in the barometric pressure may increase stiffness in the joints and trigger subtle movements that heighten pain response in already tender joints.Since the barometric pressure is lowest during rain you are experiencing such discomforts.

I too accept this and the pain really gets aggravated during rainy season.

I've been doing the same thing recently with taking a lot of hot showers and baths. Then I apply this ointment cream called blue ice that helps with the pain and moisturizes your skin too after all those showers. It works pretty good, and you can find it at most drug stores.
