My wife is starting to get pains on her joint and she feels very uncomfortable with it. Even my sister is having the same complaint, but not diagnosed with RA. She is undergoing only normal treatment. Now, my wife starts of with the same problem and I think I should go straight with RA check. any advice.

My wife is confirmed with mild RA, particularly because of the pain in the foot. She was advised to go for Oxaprozin, etodolac and Medrol. The pain in her foot is making her very uneasy. Anyone used the above medicines and do had any side effects.

I haven't been on any of those drugs. All drugs cause side-effects.

The first 2 are anti-inflammatories.

The etodolac causes dizziness, by the way. If it is Really bothering your Wife, then mention it to her Dr. Does she have a Rheumatologist? She should get one.

Medrol is a steroid.

What is the problem with the diagnosis? Has she had the complete blood test that evaluates for the RA Factor and the anti-CCP factor? If not, why not? Even if both of those come back negative, then there are the usual clinical signs, including specific kinds of erosion that show on X-rays of the joints. Other than "joint pains" (which come with osteoarthritis and other conditions), what makes them think it is RA? Is everyone just guessing, or is there something specific that is identifying RA?
