Hi everyone
Ive had RH for 8 years now. Im doin ok I guess. Medication I take is 2xplaquenil, 4xsalazopyrin, and 25mg of methoblasin once a week. I think the methoblasin suppresses my immune system. 6 months ago I got Shingles and it was bad, a terrible thing. I have since found out I got shingles because my ammune system was weak and was twice as likely to get shingles because of the medication I was taking.
Anybody who takes immune suppressing drugs should be told of the chance of getting Shingles. I found I had 72 hours to get to my doctor for the anti-viral drugs to knock the shingles on the head, but because I didnt know the symptoms of shingles it was 6 days before I saw my doctor and it was too late for the medication, so I got the full brunt of the shingles. After 5 months I am still in pain.
I am seeing my specialist on thursday and will see what she has to say. I wouldnt want anyone else to get this terrible condition (Shingles) and it is so important for people to realize they must get to the doctors within 72 hours of seeing the rash.
I will let you know what my doctor says.

All the best to everyone

Hi Gerry, first of all my wishes for a speed recovery from the shingle and all together from the RA (know God only can save us). My sister who is diagnosed with mild RA for the past 4 years is undergoing treatment. She is in her late forties and continues with the doctor' prescription and she follows a very strict diet. I would like to hear that you are not going to get any more shingles. Good luck and wish for a speedy recovery.
