I happened to go through an article which has stated that scientists at Sydney's Garvan Institute of Medical Research had found that taking fibre rich food not only helps keep people regular, it also boosts the immune system
and it can better combat inflammatory diseases.
Foods with high fibre like dry fruits and beans, reaches the gut and bacteria convert them to compounds known as short chain fatty acids. This acids help to combat inflammatory diseases.

I don't agree with beans though it really aggrevates RA.

Crimson, are the beans still a problem even if you cook them with Bean-No, the stuff you add to keep them from causing gas? I know they are high fiber, and can be awfully good when the Bean-No is added. kageyd

I had indeed consulted with my doctor to take high fibre foods alone which includes beans. He is of the opinion that i will help to an extent to get relieve from the pain. Of course, I have changed my wife's diet with more of vegetables.
