My daughter is thinking of doing a report on joint diseases for her science fair report this year, and I was wondering if anyone would like to share how rheumatoid arthritis began for them.

I would like to share the pain of my wife and my sister, both of them are suffering from mild RA. My wife started complaining about her pain in the foot some time last year. Every often and now then, whenever we returned from a long trip or outing, she starts complaining that the foot is paining much. Though she does not had a long walk or climbed stair to the umpteenth floor. But started complaining her foot with ache.

After quite sometime, when it really become intolerable that it started affecting my job, we both decided to go doctor. Then she was adviced on normal NSAIDs for more than three months and now taking regular medicine. Now she feels ok.

My knuckles slowly began to swell over many months, and to take on a twisty, gnarled appearance. My rheumatologist (whom I was seeing for osteoarthritis) said that looked to her like RA, and so we've been going through the formal blood tests now, as well as the clinical signs (one of which is such twisted fingers). Hope that helps the paper.

I will try to share my wife experience, basically she started feeling when she was 30 years old, she started feeling it after work, while working and when she has a day off. I was so worried about her that we went to the doctor and the doctor said that she has RA.
