As I was dealing with my hip the other day, I was wondering if everyone has it in most of their joints, or do more people just have it in one place?

No one gets RA in just one joint. I have RA in almost all my joints now. Some days they are sore, all at once. Those are REAL BAD days. Thankfully, so far my back is still okay(touch wood). I have the severe type.

Most people that have RA can feel them in any part of the joints but most of them they feel it in their foot and that really hurts and makes you really carry a cane.

nowadays, she is developing pain in her knee and as usual in her necks. The pain at knee is somewhat new and the doctor asked her to do some basic exercise to relieve the stress from the joints.

I'm newly diagnosed. So far just a "for sure" in my gnarly knuckles, but my rheumatologist says that some of my hip and knee pain - which has been due to osteoarthritis for decades now - is probably partially due to RA. Anyone else have both OA and RA and not able to separate out which is the source of pain? Kagey

Is OA not related to elderly persons. I think it happens because of ageing and deficiency or lack of calcium and vitamin D. Whereas RA does not require any age. But, one thing I am for sure. Pain at joints slowly getting aggravated over the times and my wife is feeling it. At the initial stage, she complained of pain in her foot. Then in the shoulder, now in the joints.

Osteo can come much earlier than many of us think. I was diagnosed with generalized OA in my early 30's, first in my knees, then in my hips, and had a series of cartilage cleanings over the decades. Because of excellent treatment from a variety of doctors over the years, I have now (at age 69) only one replaced joint, a hip I had done at 61. My knees hurt, but first Vioxx, and then Celebrex, have been lifesavers for pain over many years now, since they first came on the market. My rheumatologist is afraid that I am now seeing RA on top of OA in my other hip. Kageyd
