What type of meds are you all on? I tried so long to go without them, using compresses and such, but it is time, I think. Also, are you on other meds that seem to help by accident?

Yes, my wife who is diagnosed and having Mild RA is taking NSAIDS in smal doses. But, not getting much relief from the pain. so, we are trying with herbal products and ayurveda medicine. But, we are going to this after consulting our doctor, who is reluctant and adviced to go slow.

Hmmm, a Life with no meds. I've never done that.
Right now, I am on Indomethacin, Prednisone, Methotrexate and Orencia for my RA. Warmed bean bags work for a while. We also need daily exercises but not vigorous. I can't stand cold packs on my joints. The pain gets worse.
I'm surprised that your Rheumy didn't strongly recommend that you take meds. from the start. Aggressive treatments with meds. and exercises helps to delay deterioration and deformity of the joints.

Heather, what kind of meds are you thinking of, those that control pain, or those that block the advance of RA? If you read here aboout specific medications, you'll get lots of good advice. People have highly different responses to meds, and you'll have to do a lot of trial and error to find out which are best for you individually.

Each person has there own specific medicine and I agree with kageyd, you have to undergo trial and error to find the right meds for you.
