My wife is prescribed with NSAIDs and off late she is saying that the pain in her foot is getting relieved for sometime and not fully and recurring in regular basis like previously once in three days. Nowadays, she is stating very often she is feeling the pain and want to take more NSAIDs. Is this ok. She is consulting her doctor also. come with your comments.

Which NSAIDS is she taking? I definitely would NOT recommend taking anymore than the prescribed dosage unless she gets the o.k. from her doctor first. NSAIDs do come with side effects, and can vary depending on the person and the type taken, but yeah, that is definitely something only her doctor can advise her on.

All over-the-counter pain relievers should be taken with care to avoid serious problems that can occur with misuse. Certain factors can increase the risk of liver toxicity from products containing acetaminophen and the risk of GI bleeding from the use of products containing NSAIDs.

Many of the NSAIDs in long-term high dosage can cause liver damage, so she should read the literature carefully and consult regularly with her doctor about not exceeding the recommended levels.
