Well, we're not supposed to talk about RA here in the Lounge, so I thought I'd share some football thoughts. I'm a Green Bay native (haven't lived there in a long while, though I still visit often). And I am thoroughly upset with the way Ted Thompson and the Coach (McCarthy) are handling the team. I was especially put out by the way Thompson treated Brett Favre, who really, really wanted to come back to Green Bay to play out his career. With respect to the team, management is taking absolutely no advantage of picking up players on free agency, and doing a miserable job in the draft. So there!! This issue may raise some hackles -- or no interest at all. But it's a nice escape from RA!!! Any other football fans out there? It's Sunday - NFL day.

Why, not? I am a vivid fan of football. And of course, my favourite teams are Houston Texans and Ravens. I am not bothered about their positions. But I long stayed at Texas and loved to admire. I am shying from other topics only because I though of this place meant only for RA, even at this particular place. I will continue with you if it is allowed. By the way, I bet on 49ers to win the match against Packers.

A refreshing topic! I'm not a fan of football but seeing the winning streak of New Orleans Saints made me watch this team closely.

Sorry, but I do not enjoy Football. In fact, they are considering putting the Football Team from the League back in a park not far from our place. I am not impressed. :( That land could be used for something more People friendly for many different types of People.
I'm an avid Hockey Fan. Our Team has been doing fairly Well lately. They just beat the Buffalo Sabres tonight(5-3) and the Pittsburg Penquins this week(6-2). YAY! :D
It doesn't matter what sport we watch as long as we love them and they play some decent games. It lifts our spirits to see the Boys win. :)
Good Luck with your favourite Teams Succeeding.

I'm betting on the 49ers today also, Naturelover. Yes, the rules are clear - the Lounge on this Forum is for all topics EXCEPT RA, a place for us to relax. No RA posts in the Lounge!
Go Niners. While I am a Green Bay native, I lived for many years in San Francisco, and am also a great Niner fan. Now I live in NY, and am also a Giants fan and somewhat of a Jets fan.

If the 49ers had made their passing and receiving good in the second half, they could moved up the game. They fought back at the last and couldn't make it. BUt, the real problem is that outside linebacker Aaron Kampman and cornerback Al Harris of Packers had some serious injuries and hope they recover well before next round.

That sounds bad news with 49ers if both of them is out for the season, but hey maybe luck will stick on their side. Good luck with your team.

I'm a die hard Falcons fan and my husband is a Giants fan. One of the best games to me this season was when these two teams played recently. We had a bet going on, the game went into overtime, and the Giants ended up winning the coin toss and winning the game. It was a great game even though I ended up losing..grrr..

I would like to see a win by my favorite team Ravens against Packers on Sunday. Would any suggest otherwise.

I enjoy watching football sport on the television, and that too during world cup tournaments only. Otherwise I watch a lot of cricket. Football is a great game, full of wonderful moments. Look at the goals of some of the greats! I think all of us will agree on this.

I'm a truly born Packer fan native of Green Bay, but I'm so angry at the way Thompson treated Favre, and the way he and McCarthy have been running the team, that I'm currently rooting against the Packers - which is SO foreign to me! Go Ravens (should make my spouse happy, he's from Baltimore originally).

Welcome aboard Kageyd for supporting my favorite team Ravens, which happened to be your spouse's fav team. Had you watched the 18th week match against Cardinals. What a way to come back and end up losing. A heartening defeat and really it will be hard to root against home team.

Well, Naturelover, the Ravens looked darned good in the wildcard week just past, and so did the Packers, but the Packers are going home and the Ravens are moving ahead. My husband is from Baltimore originally, and he has disliked Indianapolis ever since they stole the Colts out of Baltimore, so he's a Ravens fan now. And as a Favre fan, I'm rooting for Minneapolis over Dallas. And because we live a large part of our retired life in New York, we're also rooting for the Jets!! Lots to follow.
How about you?

I really watch these matches to get out of the stress from my profession. I do love to watch all the matches, if possible without any success. Very personally, I like Ravens and Texans.

Ravens are taking @Indianapolis. I expect a tough game and want to see Ravens running the game.

I think Favre has been wonderful over the years, not just in football but in all he and his wife contributed to Green Bay in the many years they lived there. So I'm behind Minnesota all the way this year. My husband likes the Ravens, and we both have the Jets second in our priority (as we now live in NYC).

Some of the teams in England play real professional football. The game and the players should be given even more incentives and salary in the other countries as well. Sports like hockey and football have to be given more recognition in other countries where cricket is also played and given prime importance.
Im an LCFC fan through and through. For those that don't know it Leicester City Football Club, England. The true home of football.
So everyone agrees? The best football is in England? Thought that would have provoked a response from someone.....
