Does anyone affected by Rheumatic fever?

Does anyone got affected by Rheumatic fever? My wife or my sister has not affected by this fever. It starts as a normal fever and develop over for 2 to 3 weeks with a sympom of soar throat and scarlet fever. It affects mainly children aged between 5 and 15 years.

My wife is not affected by it and I know that this is uncommon in the US except in children who have had strep infections that were untreated or inadequately treated.

Rheumatic fever is also a kind of an inflammatory disease. It normally follows a throat infection and scarlet fever. I read somewhere that this fever may affect even the brain. Nose bleeds also may be caused in advanced cases.
