My father, who has chronic health problems which mean he has little mobility, has over recent months been experiencing a strange thing. The doc reckons maybe arthritis. Sometimes his first and second fingers lock together, quite straight. There's no pain. After a few minutes or so they relax again and 'act' normally. It can happen on either hand, sometimes both, and only ever those 2 fingers are involved. It can happen at any time of day. Seems odd that it's the same 2 fingers which are affected on both hands. Does this sound like arthritis? We're intrigued.
