How Long Does a Flare Last?

How can I know If my wife is having a flare and how long does one last? Though my wife had RA for almost a year now I'm still not use to seeing her in pain.

I don't get your question, since you are saying you never seen pain of your wife and still, declaring she is having RA.

Normally, a flare last for about 15 minutes, which is the case for my wife.

I think Crimson was saying that he was not accustomed to seeing his wife in pain BEFORE she was stricken with RA, and now he hs trying to help with the pain that she IS feeling. That has certainly been the message from both of these good folks in all their postings.

I'm still a newbie, but my reading of "flare" on this forum tells me that it usually means one or two days of terrible pain, at least that long, often longer.

Usually my wife takes about 2 - 4 days of pain so I was asking the community if it's the same with the others. Thanks a lot for the information and I appreciate it.
