Is long-term use of minocycline safe for arthritis?

Look at About.com: Rheumatoid Arthritis, for a good review of this question about monocycline. Sounds like it's a possible approach to mild RA, may be good for some people. It's just a branch of the tetracycline family of antibiotics. So Much of what we all encounter is trial-and-error, isn't it?

I posted something elsewhere this morning on this topic (these messages cross over threads, so it's hard to find things again). The fellow who said his RA was CURED by using antibiotics was following a path begun in 1939 on the role of mycoplasma in RA. I found a great history on About.com: rheumatoid arthritis, on the research behind the use of antibiotics for control of RA by killing off mycoplasma. It's a post by me, today December 3, so you should be able to find it; it's much more complete than the Wikipedia article, because it focusses on antibiotics (which minocycline is) and RA. If I find that post with its specific URL, I'll post it again here. Kageyd

Minoscycline may cause sun burns as it can render your skin more sensitive to sunlight.Comsumption of multi vitamins and iron tablets might lessen the effect of minocycline. Minocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic.
