Are you aware of any splints made out of lighter, easier-to-wear materials? Because my wife is using the one that is heavy and large and a pain to wear during night time.

I see people all the time with lightweight splints (and casts), but perhaps the nature of the problem to be addressed dictates the kind of splint. What does her doctor say when you ask this question?

My wife and even my sister, are not asked to go for any splint as yet. I hope they are not adviced to as it looks like restraining movement from place to place.

My wife's splint is made with heavy molded plastic which is designed to hold the joint in one particular position. We went to our doctor the other day and he recommended that we see an Occupational Therapist to make a new one for my wife. Thanks a lot.
