I am just providing a clinical trial undertaken for RA with SIMPONI (TM) (golimumab).

New long-term data from two pivotal, Phase 3 clinical trials showed that patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) receiving SIMPONI(TM) (golimumab) every four weeks achieved sustained improvements in signs and symptoms and physical function response through one year. These new data were presented today at the 2009 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Scientific meeting.

Thanks, Naturelover, I'll keep my eyes on this. I do note that the statement was by the developer of the drug, and that it didn't mention anything about the percentage or nature of serious side effects - which is one of the cautions we always have to be aware of when the drug developer is the one hyping the findings. Still, if those data hold up, it's a really positive development, especially for those who have been through a series of meds already. Again, my thanks for bringing this to our attention. Kageyd
