Hi all, I hope everyone is having a good day..I need some advice/help. After complaining to my doctor of my sudden onset of pain that has lasted EVERY day since late October, my doctor did the blood test for RA. It came back that I had "mild" RA...(the nurse called with results and said see you in 3 months grrr). What I dont understand is after reading up on RA, my symptoms arent of RA...My pain is in my hips, legs, arms, shoulders and neck. My pain is not flares either, it is every day. I struggle with walking the pain is so intense. I spend 90 percent of my time in bed due to pain and an intense feeling of exhaustion. Another symptom that has popped up is muscle twitches. Not just in my legs, but my arms, toes and upper shoulders. Am I wrong to think this is NOT RA? If it is, I sure hate to see what the next stage of it is! I go back to see my doc next month so any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Hawksnest, the sudden onset of pain in pretty much every joint, plus muscle twitches, sounds suspicious to me, not really like RA as most of us have experienced it. Tell us also how old you are; sometimes RA comes on more rapidly in younger folks than in older ones.
I wouldn't venture a guess as to what else might be the underlying problem, but if you possibly can I'd definitely consider an opinion from another doctor - whether your current doctor likes the idea or not. Maybe it is RA, but if it were me I'd be worrying myself day and night that I might have some kind of weird virus or other infection that's spreading throughout my body, and I wouldn't rest until I was sure I had a definite diagnosis. Let us know how things go, please, and good luck to you. Kageyd

Thats just it...I have this boil like thing on my inner "buttcrack" and i have had it for a year now..it itches and burns..my doctor told me it was staff and treated me with antibiotics in august..when i went back to him in november, i told him it still was there and hadnt healed and he said "oh it will dry up"..i do know that untreated staff can cause all kinds of problems. I am 42 years old. This all started in September when my hip was aching..i thought it was my bed then as we traveled alot in September visiting family..i found out no matter where i slept, it hurt..then in october i broke out with either a rash or hives..and was not sleeping at nite due to the racing heart and panic attacks (this was all new stuff for me) so my doc treated me with depression meds. I am unable to go in a vehicle more than 30 miles and my entire body hurts. I have had one day in two months where my body didnt hurt but on this "good day" I had a case of TMJ, where the jaw goes out..ugh very painful. I think tomorrow i will call a neuro doc and see if he can help me. For tonite, I will pray for a good nites sleep with now pain and no burning in my legs.

Staphylococcus infections (what you heard as "staff"), like your doctor told you you had, can spread throughout the body, and can kill. You really do need to see a doctor who will take your many physical ailments seriously. May you find relief. Best. Kageyd
