Hi,

I'm a 19 year old female from WA state. I have not been diagnosed with RA but I have many of the symptoms...my family and I recently changed medical insurances so I still have to have my inital wellness/check up appointment. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to bring up my symptoms and see if he thinks it could be related to RA or if he would just tell me to make another appointment? I think they do blood work for inital appointments but not sure. I am overweight so I'm also afraid he's just going to blame my joint pain on that; which very well could be the cause, but I also get fatigued very easy and Malaise symptoms, so are these symptoms present in other types of arthritis? Thanks for your input

Many things cause joint pain. The current practice for RA is to attack it aggressively on first diagnosis. You should mention to your new doctor(s) your concern, and ask them to include in your blood work the sedimentation rate and the RA factor, and other blood factors that often (but not always) present in RA. Best to luck to you. Kageyd

Hi aeg1118,

First of all, my sincere prayer for you to not have confirm as RA. Still, the supreme power decides upon to give and take away and let it be that he take away the worries from you.

RA does affect everyone and it affects more of the fairer sex than male. By your age and as you mentioned you are overweight, take a trip to Rheumatologist and confirm with all the tests.

I would suggest you to go through the link to have a better idea about RA.

Consult a rheumatologist. I do not think that you are suffering from this ailment. All you need is probably some exercie. Follow the stretching type of exercise. Stretching exercise will do a world of good to your joints and tissues. But do not overdo.
