Tragedy at Haiti!

I sincerely place my heartfelt condolences for the departed soul because of the severe earth quake that hit the Haiti.


The magnitude 7.0 earthquake that triggered disastrous destruction and mounting death tolls in Haiti this week occurred in a highly complex tangle of tectonic faults near the intersection of the Caribbean and North American crustal plates, according to a quake expert at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) who has studied faults in the region and throughout the world.

Yes. It is very satisfying to note that several countries in the world have come forward to share the grief of the Haitians and they have donated good sums as part of relief measures. We still do not know how many bodies lay buried inthe rubble. A total figure is expected in a day or two.

This is the time where the whole world must unite and help Haiti, I feel sorry and everybody does. Let's hope and pray that they an recover from these tragedy.

It's horrible. One of the poorest countries on earth, devastated. We all of us here on this forum have some blessings mixed in amongst our health concerns.

It is very much heartening to read in the newspapers about the support both manual and monetary given by the other nations. The President of Haiti has said that the loss is 'unimaginable' Many schools, buildings, hospitals and other establishments have been floored by this massive earthquake.
