A recent study suggests that increasing patient responsibility for making medical decisions may decrease their willingness to accept risky treatment options. Details of this proof-of-concept study appear in the December issue of Arthritis Care & Research, a journal published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the American College of Rheumatology.

That's a fascinating study, Crimson, thank you. I'm as yet nowhere near a decision involving the biologics, but the more I read about them, the less likely I am to start down that path - yet many on this forum report good results with the biologics. Still, those potential side effects are daunting to me.
I am very lucky to have a rheumatologist who involves me totally in what meds and procedures I accept, and I agree that by being involved I am probably less likely to follow a high-risk path of treatment. Such tough decisions!!!

Even though not a pleasant thing, my mom is undergoing treatment for the past 6 months and I couldn't make anything on this topic. But the kind advices are so great and helpful. Thank you, one and all.

Health care professionals are now very much wanted in the job market. Yes. As the article indicated they interact with the patients before taking up any further step in treatment of the ailment. It is a concept to be accepted.

A very good read at the link topic. But, I doubt many people consider the first time pain as something sort of ache and leaving to take a proper treatment. yes, links of this sort are more important for members like us.
