Hi everyone,
My name is Liz and I have had RA for 17 years now. In 2006 I was on Humira and developed pneumonia and everything went downhill from there. I am now disabled from the RA and receive disability. I also had an intrathecal pain pump implanted on March 13th.

I am married with 4 children that range in ages from 25 to 15. We have 2 very wonderful grandchildren and a son that is a lifer in the Army. All 3 of my girls have RA. Our 15 year old was diagnosed at the age of 12, Our 17 year old was diagnosed at the age of 17, and our 25 year old was diagnosed at the age of 25. Praise God it has not gotten our son. All 3 girls are thankfully in remission right now.

I have had multiple medication failures and after surgery recovery I am hoping to go on Actemra. I was part of the clinical trial for Actemra and I had some response to it. Not anything that would put me back to work full time, but enough of a response to be comfortable and able to have somewhat of a life. The medication was actually a failure in the clinical trial for me since my ankles would not stop flaring no matter what we did for them. They are still flaring to this day. I really wish they would stop!

Hopefully they will find a cure for RA sooner rather than later! They are coming out with some great medications for it though. That is a good start as far as I am concerned!

I used to post here until the first of this year, until this site seemed to die. Someone steered me to Faces of Rheumatoid Arthritis on Facebook, and to Rheumatoid Arthritis Group on Facebook. Both are FAR superior to anything you will find here, with huge numbers of active participants. Kagey
