Hi,
I am a 35 year old woman who lives in Buffalo, NY. I have had RA for 30 years now. In the last year I have a had a hip replacement and triple arthrodesis on my right foot. I am still recovering from the foot surgery and now my other hip is starting to give out. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before that has to be replaced as well. I am usually a very active person but in the last few years, I'm really deteriorating. I feel very depressed most days. It's a very slow recovery from this surgery and I thought it might help to talk to others who have the same disease.

Thanks!

New to the forum. New to RA. It's everywhere. My entire body with exception of my hips. I am 50. I have chemical allergies and it's impossible for me to take the normal drugs that help RA. I have had Fibromyalgia for five years. I take Vicodin ES and the best antidepressant I can take is Effexor XR because it's not only a serotonin uptake inhibitor, but also a norepinephrine uptake inhibitor, along with ativan I have no depression, just feel horrible all the time that I cannot do anything anymore.

My advice is to stay as positive as possible. Pray a lot, and always keep your doctor informed to anything different. I wish you, and Teresa all the hope and health you can find and may you both find peace with this horrible situation. I have made my peace with it through prayer, a great husband, and family that supports me in every way and my best friend that keeps me laughing!...Teresa you are right, laughter helps!...
