Hi everyone! It's a comfort to find so many people going through the same frustrating journey, knowing you're not alone.
I was diagnosed in 2005, a month after I turned 30. I've been off plaquenil for a year now, and I feel pretty good. I still get some bad flare ups but day to day living is better than it has been for 3 years. Vitamin D and watching what foods I eat are the biggest factors in staying healthy. I needed to gain weight to give my body the extra energy it needed to heal itself (I'm tall and very slender), but I learned how to do it properly from going to a Naturopath/holistic doctor. I'm actually able to walk my dog for 40 minutes every day (before it was once around the block), play the piano and guitar again, and hold a paint brush!
I have a few other health issues that interfere with RA as well, I'm on blood thinners and I've been diagnosed with Marfan's. Anyone else with these issues as well?
