My mother was diagnosed with RA in 2000. I was just diagnosed with it in January this year. Since then I have talked with several friends, and my sister and out of about 10 women I am in contact with.. 8 have recently been tested and they have been diagnosed as well. Could there be something environmental causing this? Is all the additives in our foods possibly the cause? What about all the growth hormones and what not that are used to speed up cattle & chicken production? Something is causing this in way too many women and I am scared and refuse to believe it's a coincedence any longer. Something needs to be done to find out the cause of this disease. I originally thought it might be hereditary since my mother was diagnosed and I had similar symptoms (I waited 8 years to finally get bad enough to get tested for fear I did have it) but now I am no longer convinced. I mean eventually all the preservatives, phosphates and god only knows what else will cause some kind of side effects. If it is what we are eating, imagine what we are doing to our children!! Are we dooming them to our same fate?
