I'd love to get a small aquarium for my daughter, and then eventually get a bigger tank. But really I have no clue about anything aquarium related except they are pretty :D.

LOL, here's one for you - watching fishes in an aquarium is a good way to lull yourself to sleep. The seamless, repetitive motion of fishes swimming is very relaxing and is, in fact, a good, non-drug remedy for people who are having difficulties falling asleep.

I have an average aquarium and I have an arowana fish, they say that if you have this fish it can bring you good luck, but hey it is not a bad idea to believe in it. ^^

During my school days I had an aquarium in my home. My maternal uncle triggered my interest in growing an aquarium. Even now I dream of having one in my home. I am just waiting for the opportunity. There are good number of books on fish.

Try to have one! It's a good thing to have an aquarium and for my experience it can relieve stress.

I am still of thinking to have one and never intended to put one really. As this topic revived and my idea of putting an aquarium also got revived. Can our members suggest what types of fish to have at home, anything specific.

Star fish, sword fish, a few scavengers, a few guppies, female ones more, a few gold fish, a few zebra fish, and other varieties of striped ones are mostly preferred in an aquarium. Please don't go for very big ones since there is always the danger of the younger ones being eaten by the bigger ones!
