View Full Version : Work discrimination question

I'm an i.t. manager and have never missed a day's work down to my ra (ara, aka aggressive !)

Recently I told my boss and the hr director of my condition as I was having to have more frequent daytime visits for blood's, docs, physio, follow up appts, rheumi nurse help that kinda stuff

Since then, and I hope i'm not being paranoid and I felt the company were trying to be helpful, we've opened up a position for a new recruit, to my shock and horror whereas previously I had huge issues getting decent salaries for the guys who work for me my boss and the hr director put the position at my salary level, at same time they withdrew bonus scheme for those who have more than 7 concurrent absences due to any illness.

I've tried talking to my boss and hr expressing my concern of my sense of being replaced, very similiar jobs etc, i've been assured that "i'm the boss" but am very suspicious

Question, is this how discrimination starts ? Am I wrong to worry theyre attempting to replace me? As I said although i've tried talking to them about lowering the position or further assurance about my position i'm met with death silence and cannot get a straight answer, help what should I do, any ideas !?

my thinking's along the line of having to take it and recruit the person but within a very short period of time that person will then be level with me and ..... it doesnt take alot of thinking to know that work is getting harder, this is the last thing I need

Any ideas ?

Thanks

sorry but shooting from the hip with this ! hope you all follow it ok
